Thanks to all of you that sent messages, I did make it to the coast just fine although our Adventure trip had some adventures!
Three hours of delay in Chicago meant I drove later than I had planned on and by the time I was ready to be done for the night, apparently everyone else had the same idea because it took 7 hotels to find one with a vacancy.
I didn't want to keep going however, not only because it was technically the middle of the night, but it had started raining, fog had rolled in and if I waited until the next city it would mean driving the foothills at night in those conditions.
Day 2 of travels brought some more challenges, the number of accidents is maddening but as watched the time on the GPS getting pushed back time after time, I also reflected on how grateful I was to be still traveling safely!
So Cash and I got to the coast a little bit later than we planned, it was already dark, so witnessing his first view of the ocean will have to wait until this morning.
My little dude got a little restless and antsy a few times in the vehicle but overall he was such a little trooper. Ty, I wish you were here with all my heart and I feel broken that your'e not here. This was supposed to be your adventure buddy. Cash and I miss you so much and we talk to you every time we are out on a run or walk, but we talked to you even more on the drive the last two days. I hope you are hearing us buddy. We love you.
