Where I Have Been Spending my Healing Time

So while I work at giving myself time, space and permission to rest and relax I have been learning to enjoy the moments with my new obsession.

Here are some from this morning

Another one from my deck....

I can't believe I actually took this picture, it is one of a hundred I took of this little guy as he made his way from my feeder to my deck!

My nightly view

I never get tired of sitting on my deck and watching the evening go out this way.

Spiders and gratitude

Living alone, brings many challenges especially because having a big house in the country means dealing with critters and with machinery and tools which I don't have a natural apptitude for.
I can handle most things,  however I  have a strong aversion to spiders. In fact aversion is probably an understatement.
So today when I came home and there had been an invasion of spiders covering my entire deck and the back lot with a tent of webs, I really wanted to just stay in the house and wait for them to go away. Just as I was trying to figure out how to be brave enough to get to the shed, which contained the stuff I needed to get to to deal with it, I got a message from my brother who showed up 10 minutes later to spray my entire yard!  He spent an hour clearing the yard of all the webs and sprayed every square inch.  I have the best brother ever!!

Celebrating

This little girl's birthday today.  Five years ago she came to my house to meet me and see if she would be a good fit as a companion for Tanner, who desperately needed a doggy mate after we lost Annabelle.  Ellie came for a visit and never left. She stole my heart and became my dog soul mate. I love this little peanut more than I ever thought possible.
She has protected me, emotionally and quite literally physically as well. She understands human language, she performs like a circus monkey for treats, and she keeps the rest of the pack in line alternating between snarkiness and play to do this. More than this though she wraps herself around my heart every day.
So on her birthday at roughly 8 years old we started the day in her favorite place and on the trails.
She had a dinner consisting of steak, chicken, tuna, and sweet potatoes. It was followed with a homemade dog safe sundae and extra play time in the yard.
This morning she heads to her doggy chiro for an adjustment, ok not exactly what she would consider a treat but she feels better afterwards. And when we get home there is a bag of meaty butcher bones waiting.
She is my girl, my friend, my protector and my doggy soul mate. ♡♡♡
